Hi Everyone, When I was diagnosed with proatate cancer, the only information I had was what the specialists had told me, and a booklet from the Macmillan nurse. After reading it, I wanted to find out as much information as I could so I resorted to looking for info on the Internet. There is a wealth of info out there but I would issue a word of warning. Not all of it is up to date, indeed I did find some site that hadnt been updated for three to four years. This is bad as survival rates are imroving all the time with new and imroved treatments being offered. Also I found some sites where the infomation was at least missleading to say the least. I found some sites were run by hospitals or drug companies and they wanted to point people towrds their services or treatments. So these days I restrict my searches to well known sites like Cancer Research or Macmillan, for these sites are updated regulary, Rainbow

Hi everyone, Just to highlight what I wrote previously, I was speaking to someone recently who had used the Internt to try and find out more information about their cancer, and had really frightened themselves with what they found from one of those bad sites. I told them to check it out on the cancer research site, and the info was quite differnt, and the lady phoned me to to tell me she felt so relieved after reading their information. I was quite pleased by this, Rainbow.
