Hi everyone, Just an update on my Brother-in-law and his prostate cancer. He is now due at last to see the oncologist and has been told that they plan to give him chemo shortly. Not sure if this will be in tablet form or the full blown treatment and may also give radiotherapy at some stage. Will update when I know more. Regards, Rainbow

Hi Everyone, Just another update regarding my brother in law. He is having his last chemo this week, and still has no real problems with any side effects. I admire the way he has coped with it all. Three weeks after his last chemo, they will arrange for him to have a scan, and then we will find out if the treatment has done its job. Allready his PSA which was over 500 when diagnosed, has come down to 48, which allthough still high, is a fantasic drop. Really hope this continues, and the treatment has attacked all the cancer spots in his body. Just keeping my finger crossed for him and his wife, Rainbow.

Hi everyone, Brother in law has now finished his chemo, and has now seen his specialist who was very pleased with the results. Brother in law was told right at the start, they cant cure his cancer but he was told yesterday, there are a lot of men in his situation who survive for many years, so it lifted his spirits quite a lot. They are going to moniter his health but say he should feel better in a few weeks when the chemo has dissipated. So pleased he has had such good news, Rainbow.

Hi everyone, Thanks Butterfly, It just goes to show that even though the clouds can look black and stormy at the start of our cancer journey, one must always have hope. Brother in law has had a positive outlook right from the start which I believe has also helped. Rainbow.

Hi everyone, I have just had bad news about my brother in law. After seeing his oncologist yesterday, he has been told his PSA has increased and the chemo he had has not worked, for the cancer has spread. In the past few days he has been having pain in his back and was told this is due to the cancer spread. They are going to try another treatment. He has dealt with it very well but my poor sister in law is understandably feeling very worried and low at the moment. Will post again when I have more information, Rainbow.

Ho folks, I have not posted for a while regarding my brother in law. I have just had bad news regarding his prostate cancer. As well as being in his bones, It has now spread to his throat causing him to have big problems in eating or even drinking. He has to have an MRI scan on Tuesday and depending on what they find, if they think it will help, he may be offered radiotherapy. Sister in law is very worried as are the rest of the family Also I have heard from my sister in Canada, my fathers prostate cancer has returned and is also now in his bones causing him a lot of pain, Coupled with the fact he also has an infection and the fact he is 93 years old, the hospital have told my Canadiam side of the family he may only have a few weeks left. But he has proven them wrong before as he has so much will power and I know he will fight right till the end. So this just makes me wish that one day soon, Cancer will become a word that is reduntant and will only be spoken of in the past tense. Take care my friends, Rainbow.
